Today’s world is experiencing accelerated rates of change. This heightened rate and pace of change will have not only implications for the future of work, but for the focus of education. Inability of today’s educational leaders to connect these societal shifts to what it means to be truly 'career' ready will and have created skills gaps that limit our students choices and opportunities. In a time when the levels of outsourcing, automation, and enhanced achievements in artificial intelligence are creating previously unforeseen shifts across all of society, we need forward thinking leaders, drenched in awareness, who can see the big opportunity arising from the chaos of a very non-obvious future. In the midst of this current and coming upheaval and disruption, we need educational leaders who can prepare our students, our educators and our organizations to survive and thrive in a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) world.
