Technology can be a powerful tool but, it is also a source of legal headaches for educational institutions.  eDiscovery has become a norm in the litigation process and higher education institutions need to align their legal strategy to be better prepared. Better preparation for unanticipated or actual litigation requires a good document retention policy to reduce an agencies risk by ensuring the proper handling of electronic data. Institutions should have a formalized plan for document retention and destruction.  This session will discuss these issues and strategies for best practices to reduce risk.
