The State Board of Education approved new history-social science textbooks in November 2017 consistent with the FAIR Act that was passed in 2011. For the first time, teachers and administrators are required to teach LGBT history in California. Learn about successful district implementation and professional learning structures for increasing teacher content knowledge and pedagogy about LGBT history as well as history textbook selection ideas.
