Passwords are broken. Privacy is broken. Our data is for sale on the web and most teachers I know use the same password for everything. And yet, there are a few simple steps users can take to safeguard their own data and that of their students. School teachers and administrators have access to an enormous amount of private student information, and that information should be protected by a few safeguards. In this session, we’ll go over how account breaches really happen, and what can protect you: 2 step verification, recognizing phishing, avoiding password reuse, and breach notifications. Presenter qualifications include over 5 years without a spambot taking over my email!
