How can you use curriculum as a catalyst for good instruction? Piloting/adopting/writing your own curriculum should be an opportunity to focus on good INSTRUCTION, not a "program".  We need to look beyond curriculum that is full of bells and whistles, but does little to address student needs.  As administrators, we need to use the adoption/writing process as an opportunity to hone instructional practices, discuss good pedagogy, revive the enthusiasm of our teachers, and help them learn how to innovate “within the box”.  We will discuss both good curriculum adoption practices, and, more importantly, the “now what” of how to use that curriculum as an option.
