Personalizing professional learning for educators takes talented coaches, a strong system, and a well-constructed framework.  This session will show alignments between coaching cycles, student-centered learning, standards evaluation and development of a reflection process that changes instruction in the classroom.Orange USD initiated a program to develop a dynamic 1:1 program.  The foundation to this system was ensuring it had a standards-based Technology Use Continuum (TUC) that supported moving teachers from a technology-enriched environment to a personalized or student-centered learning environment.  The TUC allows educators supported by coaches to self-evaluate where they are in ten technology domains.  Once they have determined their areas of growth, they then work with a coach to narrow ten ideas down to three.  Coaches then acclimate themselves with their coachees  by taking time to understand students in the classroom, the educator as acquiring  assessment data  to determine student needs.  Coaches then build a Personalized Learning Plan (PLP) to support educators.  The PLP is followed as the coaching cycle is implemented to move learners through planning, rehearsing, co-teaching and debriefing while building strong collaborative relationships.  Upon completion of a three-month period, learners gather artifacts and reflect on their PLP.  New goals are set and the process starts again.  This process has been developed to support all curricular areas within the district as administrators, teachers and coaches look for new ways to implement technology in supporting a student-centered learning environment.
